Members often start threads that go absolutely nowhere. Often the thread dies when it gets towards double figures, with the majority of threads stopping before they even get to 10.
There has been a few notable exceptions from the quiz forum, which continues to develop. However the biggest and longest serving thread in GENERAL CHAT has been a thread titled The Thread of Facts. It is in this thread that people just post something that others may not know, whether it be sensible or plain bullshit.
It's popularity can be measured in posts and respondents. It is the only thread on FFUK outside of the quiz forum that has racked up over 1000 posts (1136 at the time of writing). There have been contributions from 39 members, with Dan being the main contrbutor with over 200 random facts. Hopefully this thread will continue to grow to over 2000 and beyond!
